Metaplanet Adds 497 BTC to Holdings in Another Strategic Buy

Metaplanet Expands Bitcoin Stash with 497 BTC Purchase, Now Holds 2,888 BTC

Tokyo-listed Metaplanet has continued its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation, acquiring 497 BTC for $43.3 million at an average price of $88,448, CEO Simon Gerovich announced on X.

This latest purchase brings Metaplanet’s total Bitcoin holdings to 2,888 BTC, with an overall investment of 36.444 billion yen ($240 million) and an average cost basis of $83,172 per BTC.

The acquisition follows another buy earlier in the week, where Metaplanet snapped up 156 BTC amid a dip in Bitcoin’s price to $87,000. As of now, BTC is trading around $87,200.

Metaplanet’s continued accumulation signals its confidence in Bitcoin as a long-term store of value, following the trend of other institutional investors entering the market.
