Crypto Is the Future of U.S. Power, Says Donald Trump Jr

Donald Trump Jr.: Crypto Is Key to America’s Financial Dominance

Donald Trump Jr. made an unexpected appearance at the Ondo Summit in New York City on Thursday, asserting that cryptocurrency will play a pivotal role in securing the United States’ financial leadership on the global stage.

“Crypto is more than just speculation—it’s a fundamental shift in financial power,” Trump Jr. stated. “If the U.S. embraces this technology, it strengthens our economic position for decades to come.”

His remarks came shortly after World Liberty Financial (WLF), the Trump-backed crypto investment firm, purchased $470,000 worth of Ondo Finance’s native token (ONDO). The investment aligns with Ondo’s announcement of its new layer-1 blockchain, Ondo Chain, aimed at advancing tokenized assets.

Trump Jr. also called for a balanced regulatory approach to crypto, warning against excessive oversight. “We need clear rules that support innovation, not bureaucratic red tape that forces companies offshore,” he said.

Chase Herro, co-founder of WLF, echoed this sentiment, revealing that WLF is working on launching a “strategic reserve” of crypto assets. “We’re focused on long-term growth in the space, and this is just the beginning,” Herro said.

WLF has been aggressively acquiring digital assets, including Ethereum (ETH), wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Tron’s TRX, AAVE, and Chainlink’s LINK.

Earlier in the day, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) also announced plans to introduce a series of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including the Truth.Fi Bitcoin Plus ETF, which would directly track bitcoin’s price performance.
