U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted approximately $1.07 billion in net inflows over three consecutive trading sessions from October 19 to October 21. During the same period, a wallet associated with convicted Irish drug trafficker Clifton Collins transferred another 500 BTC, worth about $41 million, to a Coinbase Prime deposit address.
The substantial ETF inflows indicate renewed demand for Bitcoin investment products among institutional investors. Meanwhile, the latest transfer has revived questions about Collins’ long-dormant Bitcoin holdings and how the funds, once believed to be inaccessible, are now moving.
Bitcoin ETFs Record More Than $1 Billion in Three Days
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs registered $526.7 million in net inflows on Monday, October 19, followed by $23.2 million on Tuesday and $524.8 million on Wednesday. The combined inflows reached approximately $1.0747 billion over the three trading sessions.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) and Fidelity’s FBTC were the biggest contributors to Wednesday’s activity, attracting $235 million and $212.7 million, respectively. Grayscale’s GBTC recorded $32.6 million in inflows, while Bitwise’s BITB brought in another $19.2 million.
Other funds also reported positive flows. ARKB attracted $9.8 million, EZBC received $7.3 million, and the fund listed as BTC recorded $8.2 million.
Tuesday’s performance was more subdued. IBIT received $29.9 million, while FBTC added $3.6 million. However, BITB saw $10.3 million leave the fund, leaving the overall market with $23.2 million in net inflows.
Monday’s total of $526.7 million was primarily driven by $665.2 million flowing into IBIT. The figure was partially offset by $54.9 million in outflows from GBTC and $83.6 million from FBTC.
These figures point to a renewed appetite for regulated Bitcoin investment products. The coming trading sessions should help determine whether the recovery continues or represents a temporary increase in demand.
Collins-Linked Wallet Transfers Another $41 Million in Bitcoin
A wallet linked to Clifton Collins by blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence transferred another 500 BTC, valued at approximately $41 million, to Coinbase Prime on October 20.
The transaction was reportedly the fifth transfer of 500 BTC from Collins-associated holdings in 2026, adding to a series of movements involving a Bitcoin fortune that had long been considered inaccessible.
Reports indicate that Collins accumulated around 6,000 BTC during 2011 and 2012 using proceeds from drug trafficking. Following his arrest in 2017, printed copies of his wallet keys were reportedly discarded by his landlord, leading to the belief that the cryptocurrency could not be recovered.
The latest movements have raised questions about how access to the holdings was restored and who is authorizing the transactions. According to Arkham’s tracking, approximately 2,500 BTC associated with Collins-linked holdings have moved during 2026, leaving an estimated 3,500 BTC in related wallets.
The transfers have coincided with Bitcoin seizures announced by Ireland’s Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB), which has reported confiscating cryptocurrency connected to Collins during the year.
The status of the remaining holdings remains uncertain. Further transactions or official statements from Irish authorities and Coinbase could clarify whether the Bitcoin is under government control, being held in custody, or moving for another purpose.
Institutional Bitcoin Demand Grows as Dormant Holdings Move
The $1.07 billion in net ETF inflows over three sessions highlights renewed demand for Bitcoin through regulated investment products. At the same time, the latest $41 million transfer demonstrates that significant amounts of long-dormant Bitcoin linked to Collins continue to move.
These developments highlight two separate aspects of the cryptocurrency market: growing investor participation through spot Bitcoin ETFs and continuing uncertainty surrounding the ownership and movement of a fortune once believed to be lost.
