Solana ETFs Attract $78M in Inflows as Spot Approval Hopes Build
Investor interest in Solana-focused ETFs is accelerating, with three U.S.-listed funds pulling in a combined $78 million over the past month. The surge in inflows comes amid rising optimism that regulators may soon approve a spot Solana ETF, potentially including staking rewards.
Leading the charge is the newly launched REX-Osprey SOL + Staking ETF (SSK), which began trading on July 2 and has already gathered over $41 million in assets under management, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. Two other funds—Volatility Shares’ leveraged Solana ETF (SOLT) and its standard Solana ETF (SOLZ)—have drawn $69 million and $23 million year-to-date, respectively.
“It’s all much smaller than BTC or ETH, but a lot of green numbers = good,” Bloomberg Intelligence senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas commented on X, highlighting the positive trend despite the Solana funds being dwarfed by bitcoin and ether ETFs in size.
The inflows coincide with anticipation surrounding the potential approval of a spot Solana ETF—a product many asset managers are actively pursuing. While the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has yet to greenlight such a fund, there are growing signs of progress.
Earlier this week, CoinDesk reported that the SEC asked issuers to re-submit key documents by the end of July, suggesting the regulatory process could move faster than the previously expected October timeline.
If approved, Solana (SOL)—which is currently trading around $156.96—would join bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH) as one of the few cryptocurrencies accessible to U.S. investors via spot ETFs.
Since their launch in January, bitcoin ETFs have attracted close to $50 billion in inflows, transforming the digital asset investment landscape. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has become one of the top revenue-generating ETFs of any type, now holding 700,000 BTC.
Meanwhile, Ethereum ETFs, approved more recently, have already accumulated around $4.5 billion in assets.
