CoinShares Launches Fee-Free SEI ETP With Staking Yield in Europe
CoinShares has introduced a zero-fee exchange-traded product (ETP) offering exposure to the SEI token, alongside a 2% annualized staking yield. The product, trading under the ticker CSEI, is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and is the first regulated vehicle to provide direct access to SEI, the native asset of a high-performance Layer-1 blockchain built for low-latency trading.
The physically backed ETP distributes staking rewards automatically and is passported across CoinShares’ licensed European markets. The firm, which manages over $8 billion in digital assets, said the launch aims to ease access for institutional investors who previously faced operational barriers to holding SEI directly.
The move follows CoinShares becoming the first European crypto manager to secure a MiCA license under the EU’s new regulatory framework for digital assets.
Despite a growing number of crypto ETPs in Europe—108 with combined assets of €13.92 billion ($16.21 billion), according to JustETF—adoption has trailed that of U.S. spot ETFs. BlackRock’s spot bitcoin ETF (IBIT) alone holds over $86 billion in assets, while the total across all U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs exceeds $151 billion, per SoSoValue data.
