JPMorgan: Coinbase Benefits Increasingly from Circle Partnership and USDC Revenue Model

Coinbase Sees Major Financial Gains from Circle Partnership and USDC, JPMorgan Reports

Coinbase’s (COIN) collaboration with Circle (CRCL) and its involvement with the USDC stablecoin are delivering substantial financial benefits, including both equity value growth and lucrative revenue streams, according to a recent analysis by JPMorgan.

JPMorgan estimates that the total value derived from Circle-related business activities could be worth between $55 billion and $60 billion to Coinbase shareholders—highlighting that the market may be undervaluing the strategic significance of the USDC ecosystem.

As of July 25, Coinbase holds approximately 8.5 million shares in Circle, with a market value of about $1.6 billion. However, the greater financial impact comes from Coinbase’s USDC-related earnings.

In Q1 2025 alone, Coinbase received around $300 million in distribution payments from Circle—exceeding Circle’s own total net revenue of $230 million during the same period.

JPMorgan notes that Coinbase had roughly $13 billion in USDC balances on its platform at the end of Q1, which generated approximately $125 million in revenue with margins between 20% and 25%.

Beyond the platform, Coinbase also shares half of the income from Circle’s Reserve Fund, bringing in about $170 million last quarter with nearly 100% profit margins.

While JPMorgan maintains a neutral rating on Coinbase stock, it set a price target of $404. The shares traded near $381 in early Tuesday sessions.
