Bitcoin remains supported near $67,500 as Trump indicates a possible end to the Iran war despite Hormuz remaining blocked

Bitcoin Holds $67,500 as Trump Signals Possible Iran War Exit

Bitcoin BTC $67,545 stabilized Tuesday after briefly dropping below $65,200, its lowest point since the Iran conflict began in late February. Ether (ETH) rose 0.4% to $2,062, while Solana (SOL) fell 0.9% to $83.07, XRP slid 2.2% to $1.32, and Dogecoin (DOGE) lost 2.1%. SOL and XRP led weekly declines among the top 10 tokens.

According to the Wall Street Journal, President Trump indicated he may end U.S. operations in Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed, citing concerns that forcing passage could extend the war.

Equity markets responded cautiously: S&P 500 futures gained 0.8%, while WTI crude pared gains to $103 per barrel after Iran struck a Kuwaiti crude carrier near Dubai. The S&P 500 is on its longest losing streak since 2022, and MSCI Asia Pacific is heading for its worst month since 2008.

Amid the turmoil, crypto has shown resilience. Bitcoin remains range-bound between $65,000 and $73,000, outperforming gold and silver, which continue to decline despite geopolitical risk. Market watchers note that sustaining demand will hinge on whether Trump’s signals translate into a real ceasefire or remain headlines.
