Bitcoin Treasury Strategy Changes Course as Saylor’s Firm Cuts BTC and Buys STRC

Strategy (MSTR) sold 1,638 bitcoin last week, generating $104.73 million in proceeds, while also raising $290.6 million through common stock sales.

The company simultaneously repurchased 912,143 shares of its STRC preferred stock for $81.2 million, according to a regulatory filing released Monday.

Following the bitcoin reduction, Strategy’s total holdings fell to 842,138 BTC. The company’s bitcoin treasury was acquired for $63.51 billion at an average cost of $75,419 per bitcoin. It also increased its cash reserve by $250 million, pushing its total U.S. dollar holdings to $4 billion.

Strategy confirmed over the weekend that STRC’s annual dividend yield will remain at 12%. The firm said it does not plan to seek a lower dividend rate unless the preferred shares trade consistently around their $100 stated value.

MSTR shares declined 1.9% in pre-market trading after bitcoin prices dropped over the weekend to approximately $62,500. STRC shares remained mostly flat.
