Polygon’s Mihailo Bjelic Announces Departure from Layer 2

Polygon, the Layer 2 scaling solution originally launched as Matic, was founded by Jaynti Kanani, Sandeep Nailwal, Mihailo Bjelic, and Anurag Arjun.

In a recent update on X, co-founder Mihailo Bjelic announced his decision to leave the project. “After careful consideration, I have decided to step down from the Polygon Foundation board and reduce my daily involvement with Polygon Labs,” Bjelic shared.

This departure leaves Sandeep Nailwal as the last remaining founder actively engaged with Polygon’s development.

Nailwal expressed gratitude for Bjelic’s impact on the network and wished him success moving forward.

As Polygon continues its journey beyond its Matic origins, the network faces shifting dynamics within its leadership.

Currently, Polygon’s native token, POL, has dropped 5% in the last day, trading just above $0.23.
