TON Soars 20% After Telegram’s Pavel Durov Secures Passport from French Authorities

TON Rallies 20% as Telegram’s Pavel Durov Recovers Passport from French Authorities

The price of Toncoin (TON) soared more than 20% in the last 24 hours, surpassing $3.45 and pushing its market capitalization to $8.14 billion after Telegram founder Pavel Durov regained possession of his passport.

The resolution of Durov’s travel restrictions has been widely seen as a win for privacy advocates, as concerns had grown over the implications of his situation. As the visionary behind Telegram—a platform with close to a billion users—Durov has consistently championed digital privacy and freedom of communication.

The TON Foundation, which backs the Telegram Open Network, acknowledged the event on social media, stating, “The community stands united with Pavel, who has long fought to protect digital rights and privacy. His perseverance continues to inspire.”

Beyond this development, TON has also gained momentum thanks to recent upgrades to Telegram’s Wallet app, introducing multi-asset support, a yield-earning feature, and an enhanced user experience—further strengthening the network’s adoption.
