XRP News: Latest SEC Move From Ripple Raises Questions for Investors

XRP is trading close to $1.44, but attention has shifted toward Ripple’s escrow holdings following the latest SEC filing reports. A newly circulated document has encouraged investors to revisit XRP supply assumptions that were previously viewed as settled. If Ripple changes how it distributes escrowed XRP, the move could have implications for available market liquidity.

Several market outlets have reported that XRP represents roughly 4.88% of the referenced portfolio. The filing reportedly suggests Ripple could unlock additional XRP from escrow to provide on-ledger liquidity for stablecoin and foreign-exchange pairs if the CLARITY Act is approved by Congress.

That would potentially break from Ripple’s long-standing practice of returning unused monthly XRP releases to escrow. Still, Ripple’s official press center did not show a dated announcement confirming the development on Aug. 26 or Aug. 27, so the claim remains dependent on secondary reports.

Investor reaction has been cautiously bullish, with traders seeking further confirmation. As XRP Ledger activity develops alongside the U.S. regulatory timeline, both factors could play a role in determining XRP’s next price move.

Can XRP Reach $1.70 This Week?

XRP remains around $1.44 after gaining approximately 27% over the past seven days following its breakout. Trading activity has cooled from last week’s elevated levels, suggesting the market is taking time to absorb the recent gains.

XRP could consolidate within the $1.20-$1.40 range as traders monitor broader economic signals. However, losing the psychological $1 support level could weaken the current bullish market structure.

Some forecasting models have placed XRP’s average August price near $1, highlighting the possibility that its recent momentum could fade quickly. Key technical support and resistance levels will likely remain important as traders assess the next move.

Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) is positioning itself as a Bitcoin Layer 2 with native SVM integration. The project aims to deliver faster execution while maintaining settlement through Bitcoin’s base layer.

According to the project, its presale has raised $33 million, with the token priced at $0.0136853 and a promoted 35% staking reward for early participants. Its Decentralized Canonical Bridge is designed to expand Bitcoin’s functionality by enabling BTC to be used more extensively with smart-contract applications.

Potential participants should independently research Bitcoin Hyper and evaluate the associated risks before investing, especially as the project approaches another presale pricing tier.
