XRP News: Ripple Strengthens Market Reach Through Brevan Howard Deal

Ripple Prime has broadened its relationship with Brevan Howard, giving the investment manager’s funds access to multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing across traditional and digital markets. The agreement adds to Ripple’s growing institutional services business, although it does not directly establish a new use case for XRP.

Ripple said the partnership reflects rising demand among major investment firms for prime brokerage infrastructure that can support both conventional and digital markets within a regulated, enterprise-grade framework. Brevan Howard manages about $35 billion in assets and has roughly 1,000 employees worldwide.

The latest expansion follows an earlier financial connection between the companies. Funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2025. Their growing relationship comes as institutional investors increasingly look for integrated solutions covering custody, execution, financing, and other financial infrastructure.

What Brevan Howard Gets From Ripple Prime

Ripple Prime will provide Brevan Howard funds with multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services. Its platform is designed to bring multiple asset classes and financial products together, with Ripple saying the approach can improve capital efficiency and simplify institutional operations.

The companies have not disclosed the specific funds or asset classes involved in the agreement. Details on fees, transaction volumes, and the launch or implementation schedule have also not been provided, leaving the financial and operational scale of the mandate uncertain.

Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, said only a limited number of providers can deliver the next generation of prime services demanded by sophisticated investors. He said Brevan Howard’s decision to use Ripple Prime demonstrates confidence in Ripple’s competitive position and cross-asset capabilities.

Ripple says it now has more than 85 licenses and provides institutional services that include payments, custody, prime brokerage, and treasury management. While XRP and RLUSD form part of Ripple’s broader asset ecosystem, the announcement does not indicate that either token will be used by Brevan Howard funds under the agreement.

Ripple Expansion, Not a Direct XRP Catalyst

The deal primarily represents an expansion of Ripple’s institutional infrastructure. By providing access to traditional and digital market services through a unified platform, Ripple Prime is positioning itself as a broader financial services provider for institutional clients.

Brevan Howard Group COO Alan McGroarty said Ripple has developed a differentiated platform that the firm expects to give its investment teams greater operational efficiency and improved capital efficiency. Those statements describe expected benefits rather than confirmed savings or performance results.

McGroarty also pointed to the growing integration between traditional finance and digital assets, arguing that this trend is increasing the need for institutional-quality infrastructure. Ripple characterized the latest agreement as a continuation of its existing relationship with Brevan Howard, following the 2025 strategic investment.

For XRP holders, however, the announcement should be viewed carefully. Brevan Howard’s use of Ripple Prime could expand Ripple’s institutional footprint, but it does not show that XRP is required for brokerage, clearing, or financing transactions. Nor does the agreement confirm that increased use of Ripple Prime will translate into direct value for XRP.

Still, the deal reinforces Ripple’s broader push into institutional finance. Its more than 85 reported licenses, regulated positioning, and expanding prime brokerage offering demonstrate the company’s efforts to build infrastructure connecting traditional financial markets with the digital asset sector.
