$64K Bitcoin Support Holds Firm as Markets Absorb BTC Sales and Self-Custody Concerns

Here is another rewritten version with a fresh structure and smoother market analysis:

Bitcoin recovered toward the $64,000 level during Tuesday’s Asian session as investors appeared to look beyond Strategy’s recent bitcoin sales and the ongoing Coldcard wallet security issue.

BTC gained around 2% over the previous 24 hours and remained slightly positive for the week, rebounding after Monday’s decline below $63,000. The cryptocurrency briefly touched a low near $62,250 before renewed buying pressure lifted it above $64,100 overnight.

Most major digital assets were trading higher on a weekly basis, with ether standing out as the only major cryptocurrency still in negative territory. ETH hovered around $1,865, posting a modest daily gain but remaining down about 1% over the last seven days.

XRP rose nearly 1% to $1.08, extending its weekly advance to around 2%. BNB climbed 1.5% to almost $591, making it the strongest performer among large-cap tokens with a weekly increase of nearly 5%.

Other altcoins also moved higher, with Solana gaining more than 1% to about $74, while Tron and Dogecoin each added roughly 1%. Hyperliquid’s HYPE token bounced more than 4% to $54 after last week’s decline, although it remained down around 3% over the past week.

The recovery came even as the Coldcard exploit continued to weigh on sentiment. Updated estimates showed that another wave of wallet sweeps on Monday removed roughly 449 BTC from 709 addresses linked to affected firmware. Galaxy Research has not confirmed whether the same attacker was responsible for all reported losses.

Separately, Strategy disclosed that it sold 1,638 BTC for approximately $105 million between July 27 and August 2, according to an SEC filing. The company sold the bitcoin at an average price of $63,957, well below its average purchase price of $75,419.

Strategy said the proceeds would be used to support dividend payments on its preferred stock and repurchase STRC shares rather than increase its bitcoin holdings. The company now owns 842,138 BTC and has not made a new bitcoin purchase for more than five weeks.

Executive Chairman Michael Saylor said the move helped increase Strategy’s dollar reserve to $4 billion and extended its financial runway by 57 days.

Outside crypto markets, Asian equities faced renewed pressure. The MSCI Asia Pacific index dropped 0.7%, marking its second consecutive decline, while South Korea’s Kospi fell 1.1% after giving up earlier gains. A regional semiconductor index also slipped 1%.

U.S. markets offered a more positive signal, with Nasdaq 100 futures rising 0.4%. Palantir shares jumped 14% after the company raised its outlook, while Amazon declined 1.6% following news of a share sale by founder Jeff Bezos.

Traders are now watching whether bitcoin can maintain support above $63,000 during U.S. trading. The level has been reclaimed and lost multiple times recently, and another breakdown could suggest weakening demand near the $62,500 region.
