Bitcoin suffered a fourth straight day of losses, briefly falling below $81,000 before bouncing back. The broader cryptocurrency market also continued to weaken, with its combined market value dropping below $2.8 trillion to a one-month low. The main concern is whether BTC can withstand unstable spot Bitcoin ETF flows, forced liquidations, and worsening macroeconomic conditions.
The $80,000 price level has become a key benchmark for Bitcoin, serving as both a psychological support point and an important threshold for its recent bullish structure. Although BTC has not confirmed a breakdown below this level, continued selling has made the threshold increasingly significant. Spot Bitcoin ETF flows are also influencing the outlook, but daily fund movements cannot guarantee that support will hold.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs have experienced a notable deterioration in demand. After inflows began to slow, the funds recorded net outflows for four consecutive trading sessions, removing a source of buying pressure that had helped sustain Bitcoin’s price.
Meanwhile, the macroeconomic environment is creating further challenges. Higher U.S. Treasury yields, a strengthening dollar, and increased risk aversion are putting pressure on volatile assets as investors reassess their risk exposure. These conditions can weaken Bitcoin demand even without a negative catalyst specific to the cryptocurrency market.
The derivatives market has also contributed to the downturn. More than 180,000 traders were liquidated over 24 hours, bringing total cryptocurrency liquidations above $1 billion. Long positions accounted for approximately $940 million of the total.
As falling prices forced leveraged bullish traders to close their positions, liquidations added momentum to the sell-off. The scale of these forced closures demonstrates how leverage can intensify market declines beyond the selling activity occurring in spot markets.
Bitcoin Price Analysis: Will BTC Hold the $80,000 Level?
Bitcoin recently slipped below $82,000 before recovering above that mark. However, its struggle to maintain higher prices has raised concerns about the strength of its bullish trend. The $80,000 threshold is now a crucial level that could determine whether the correction develops into a deeper decline.
A decisive break below $80,000 could disrupt the higher-low pattern that has remained intact since July. If bearish pressure continues, lower support zones could become relevant, although these are potential areas of price stabilization rather than guaranteed targets.
Weakness has spread throughout the cryptocurrency market. Several major digital assets declined between 3% and 5% over 24 hours, with Ethereum trading near $2,400, BNB around $720, and XRP close to $1.40. The widespread losses indicate that investors are cutting risk across the sector rather than focusing exclusively on Bitcoin.
A sustained move above $82,000, accompanied by more stable ETF flows, could ease immediate concerns about further losses. However, the temporary recovery alone does not confirm that selling pressure has subsided or that institutional demand has strengthened.
The bearish outlook could intensify if BTC breaks decisively below $80,000 while ETF outflows continue, leveraged long liquidations increase, Treasury yields rise, and the dollar gains further strength. If these conditions persist, the $75,000 region could become a potential downside area.
For now, $80,000 remains a critical support threshold, but a confirmed breakdown has yet to occur. Bitcoin’s ability to stay above $82,000 and signs of diminishing selling pressure will be important indicators for traders. If the market fails to stabilize, continued ETF outflows and leveraged positioning could leave BTC exposed to another test of its key support level.
