Japanese firm Metaplanet Inc. (3350) has continued its aggressive bitcoin accumulation strategy, purchasing 319 BTC at an average price of $83,147. This latest acquisition boosts its total holdings to 4,525 BTC, as the company leans further into digital assets as a core part of its treasury management.
The firm’s cumulative bitcoin investment now stands at $408.1 million, with an average entry price of $90,194 per coin. Metaplanet launched its bitcoin-focused treasury initiative in December 2024, positioning BTC as a long-term value driver for shareholders.
To track performance, Metaplanet uses a proprietary metric known as BTC Yield — measuring bitcoin growth relative to outstanding shares. As of April 14, the firm reported a 95.6% BTC yield for Q1 2025 and a 6.5% increase year-to-date.
Backed by active engagement in capital markets, including bond offerings and stock warrant issuances, the company has been able to secure substantial funding for its BTC acquisitions with minimal equity dilution. Approximately 41.7% of its targeted “210 million plan” has already been deployed, with more purchases expected as the strategy advances.
