MicroStrategy Adds 850 Bitcoin, Funding Most of Purchase Through Stock Sales – 22/9/2025

MicroStrategy (MSTR) continued to expand its Bitcoin holdings last week, acquiring an additional 850 BTC for $99.7 million. The purchase brings the company’s total Bitcoin stash to 639,825 coins, with an average acquisition price of $117,344 per BTC and an overall average cost of $73,971.

The company said the latest acquisition was primarily funded through stock sales, including the issuance of perpetual preferred shares and common stock at-the-market (ATM), with roughly 80% of the funding coming from common stock sales.

Shares of MSTR fell 2.5% in pre-market trading, reflecting both the purchase and a broader decline in Bitcoin’s price to around $112,000.
