SharpLink to Deploy $200M in ETH on Consensys’ Linea Through Multi-Year Institutional Strategy
29/10/2025 — SharpLink Gaming (NASDAQ: SBET) announced plans to deploy $200 million worth of ether (ETH) on Consensys’ Linea, a Layer 2 network aligned with Ethereum, as part of a multi-year phased initiative to enhance the productivity of its digital asset treasury.
The company said the strategy will operate under Anchorage Digital Bank’s custody framework, combining ether.fi staking and EigenCloud restaking to generate on-chain yield within institutional risk and governance controls.
According to SharpLink, the program is designed to be gradual and risk-managed, targeting sustainable returns while maintaining transparency and compliance standards expected of a public company. The $200 million target represents a multi-year allocation goal, not an immediate capital transfer.
Three-Layer Yield Strategy
SharpLink detailed that the program integrates multiple yield sources:
- Native ETH staking for baseline returns.
- ether.fi’s staking and restaking infrastructure, characterized as institutional-grade.
- Incentive programs from Linea and ecosystem partners.
Additionally, a portion of rewards will be tied to EigenCloud, a service layer built atop EigenLayer, which pays operators for securing “autonomous verifiable services” — including AI-related workloads that leverage Ethereum’s underlying security.
Anchorage Digital to Handle Custody
Anchorage Digital Bank will oversee custody and execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance frameworks. SharpLink described this as a “controls-first” approach, aligning yield generation with corporate oversight and shareholder expectations.
Executive Commentary
SharpLink Co-CEO Joseph Chalom said the initiative aims to unlock staking and DeFi incentives “without compromising on safeguards.”
Consensys founder and CEO Joseph Lubin, who also serves as SharpLink’s chairman, noted that Linea’s zkEVM architecture enables faster settlement, lower fees, and full composability with Ethereum — making it suitable for institutional capital deployment. Lubin added that SharpLink’s model could serve as a template for other corporate treasuries entering on-chain markets.
Future Collaboration with Consensys
SharpLink and Consensys also outlined plans to co-develop capital markets infrastructure on Linea, including:
- On-chain capital-raising mechanisms
- Programmable liquidity tools
- Tokenized equity and treasury strategies
These initiatives are still in the research and development phase, with no immediate product launches announced.
