Sony’s Soneium Now Supported by Fireblocks, Paving the Way for Custody Services.

Fireblocks Integrates with Sony’s Soneium to Enhance Crypto Custody Capabilities

Fireblocks, a leading provider of secure crypto custody technology, has announced its integration with Sony’s Soneium blockchain, an Ethereum layer-2 network that aims to bridge the gap between traditional Web2 and the emerging Web3 ecosystem.

Fireblocks’ client base includes many high-profile institutions such as major banks and financial firms. These crypto custodians play a critical role in enabling institutional adoption of digital assets by providing secure storage solutions that large investors, including hedge funds and family offices, require for insurance and safety.

By supporting Soneium, a blockchain launched in January through a partnership between Sony and Singapore’s Startale Labs, Fireblocks will now offer custody services for assets on this new network. Soneium, which has a total value locked (TVL) of $33.6 million, is powered by Optimism’s OP Stack and supports applications across gaming, entertainment, and finance.

“We’re excited to support Soneium’s vision of creating an open, decentralized internet,” said Omer Amsel, Head of Web3 at Fireblocks. “This partnership allows us to provide users and creators with secure ownership and innovative experiences, all while ensuring the security and reliability needed for digital asset growth.”
