XRP Ledger Handles 2.6 Million Payments Within a Day

XRP Ledger payment activity climbed above 2.6 million in one day, reaching a four-month high as network usage showed signs of returning after an extended slowdown.

The XRP Ledger recorded more than 2.6 million successful payments in a single day, its strongest daily figure in roughly four months, according to The Crypto Basic, with data aggregated by Cryptorank.io on Aug. 10, 2026. XRP was trading near $1.01 when the data was reported, although the rise in on-chain activity had yet to generate a notable recovery in the token’s price.

The increase comes after several months of declining XRP prices and reduced activity across the ledger. The latest reading suggests payment activity is beginning to rebound following the prolonged downturn.

The 2.6 million total represents the highest number of successful daily payments recorded on XRPL in about four months. The Crypto Basic report attributed the improvement to renewed network activity despite XRP’s continued price weakness.

However, the figure represents activity from a single day and does not capture the full range of transactions processed by the ledger. XRPL activity also includes decentralized exchange transactions, account operations and other ledger functions.

June Figures Highlighted XRPL Throughput

Separate data from XRPScan, cited by Yahoo Finance on June 16, showed that the XRP Ledger processed 769,646 transactions during the day. Successful payments accounted for approximately 427,000 transactions, representing more than half of the total activity.

The network averaged 23.49 transactions per second, with ledgers closing approximately every 3.82 seconds. Decentralized exchange offer creation ranked as the second-largest source of activity, while account-related operations made up another portion of the total.

On June 15, XRPL processed 900,189 transactions, including 403,422 payments. Both days recorded more than 750,000 total transactions, suggesting the network could move toward the 1 million daily transaction threshold if payment and decentralized exchange activity continues to strengthen.

Ripple Expands Its Institutional Footprint

Ripple continues to develop its institutional financial services beyond the XRP token and XRPL. Yahoo Finance reported that Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expects the company to reach a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate by the end of 2026, excluding XRP held on its balance sheet.

The projection follows Ripple’s $1.25 billion acquisition of prime brokerage firm Hidden Road in 2025. The deal expanded Ripple’s services into credit, clearing and prime brokerage while complementing its existing payments operations.

The latest 2.6 million-payment reading marks a notable improvement from the activity levels recorded over the previous four months.

The June figures also show that XRPL’s overall throughput comes from several sources, including payments, decentralized exchange activity and account operations, providing broader context for the network’s recent increase in usage.
