3.54M MNT Tokens Bought by Trump-Affiliated World Liberty After Mantle’s Hard Fork

Trump-Affiliated WLFI Buys 3.54M MNT as Mantle Network Activates EigenDA

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a DeFi investment firm linked to the Trump family, has acquired 3.54 million MNT tokens following Mantle Network’s latest protocol upgrade.

According to data from Lookonchain and Arkham Intelligence, WLFI spent nearly $3 million USDC on the purchase, securing MNT at an average price of $0.84 per token. Despite this expansion, the firm’s total crypto holdings—spanning ETH, WBTC, TRX, LINK, AAVE, and ENA—remain at an unrealized loss of approximately $111 million.

Mantle Network, an Ethereum Layer 2 solution, underwent a major hard fork on March 19, integrating EigenDA, a decentralized data availability layer aimed at increasing transaction throughput to 15 MB/s. This upgrade enhances scalability and prepares the network for Ethereum’s upcoming Pectra upgrade.

At press time, MNT was trading 6% higher on the day at $0.83, according to CoinDesk and TradingView.
