ETH Price Weakens as ETF Outflows Overshadow Bitmine’s Latest Buying

Ethereum Approaches $2,500 as ETF Outflows Clash With Bitmine’s Accumulation

Ethereum rose 2.5% over the past 24 hours, trading just below $2,450, but the recovery has yet to push ETH above the key $2,500 level. Meanwhile, U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds recorded nearly $389 million in cumulative net outflows over five trading sessions, signaling continued withdrawals from regulated investment products.

Despite the daily rebound, ETH remains down 2% over the past seven days, 6% over 14 days and 8.9% over the past month.

Corporate demand is moving in the opposite direction. Bitmine Immersion Technologies added 12,535 ETH last week, increasing its holdings to approximately 6.04 million tokens and highlighting the contrast between treasury accumulation and ETF investor withdrawals.

Ethereum’s 24-hour trading volume reached $13 billion, while perpetual futures open interest stood at $44.6 billion. These figures indicate substantial market activity, although open interest by itself does not establish whether traders are positioned for higher or lower prices.

The $2,500 mark remains a key psychological barrier. A sustained move above it could strengthen expectations of a recovery, particularly if spot buying improves. Another rejection, however, could leave ETH exposed to renewed selling pressure.

On the downside, $2,380 is an important near-term level, sitting close to the reported 24-hour low. A decisive break beneath this area would weaken the current recovery structure.

Bitmine Expands Ethereum Treasury to 6.04 Million ETH

Bitmine reported approximately 6.04 million ETH in holdings as of October 18 after acquiring an additional 12,535 tokens during the previous week, according to its latest press release.

Using a reported valuation of $2,365 per ETH, the company estimated its Ethereum holdings were worth $14.3 billion. Its position represents around 4.9% of Ethereum’s circulating supply, putting Bitmine close to its stated goal of accumulating 5%.

The company also said that more than 5.06 million ETH was staked through its MAVAN platform and partner providers. That amount accounts for approximately 84% of its reported Ethereum holdings.

Bitmine’s continued purchases indicate that its treasury strategy remains focused on accumulating and staking ETH despite the cryptocurrency’s recent price weakness. Its activity contrasts with the substantial withdrawals recorded by spot Ethereum ETFs.

Ethereum Price Outlook: Will ETH Reclaim $2,500?

Ethereum’s near-term direction will depend on whether the latest rebound can extend beyond $2,470 and develop into a sustained breakout above $2,500.

A convincing move above that threshold could bring higher resistance levels into focus. Stronger spot trading volume and a recovery in ETF flows would provide additional evidence that demand is improving and buyers are gaining control.

However, ETH’s broader performance remains negative across the seven-day, 14-day and 30-day periods, suggesting that the latest daily gain has not yet reversed the prevailing weakness.

If Ethereum fails to clear $2,500 and falls below $2,380, traders may begin watching the $2,300 region for potential support. Persistent ETF outflows could further complicate the recovery, although fund flows alone cannot determine the direction of future prices.

For now, Ethereum is attempting to recover but remains below the $2,500 resistance level. A sustained breakout supported by stronger market demand would improve the bullish outlook, while another rejection followed by a drop below $2,380 could undermine the rebound.
